How can I resize/condense my Financial Statements?

How can I resize/condense my Financial Statements?

On the Cloud Financials platform released November 2023, we have introduced a new feature to

enable you to tailor the formatting of your financial statements to reduce the number of pages of
the financial statements by adjusting the font size and paragraph spacing.

Here is how you can tailor your financial statements:

Enable the feature

The formatting can be applied on the Firm template level or on the engagement level.

  • Click on the gear icon and choose Formatting options,

  • Enable the custom formatting.

Set this first

To keep the formatting simple, please apply this formatting first.

  1. Turn off the Enable section margins

  2. Set the Text area padding before and after to 0 pt.

Font size and line height

This sets the font size of the dynamic tables and paragraphs in the financial statements.
The line
height can be adjusted to 1.3 to be consistent with the dynamic table row line height.

This can be adjusted to 1 if required.

Margins

This controls the spacing after Heading 3 and Horizontal rule underline.

This is currently not used in our Cloud Financials.

Spacing

This controls the spacing before and after dynamic tables as well as spacing after paragraphs

and bullet lists.

  1. The Enable dynamic table padding before and after option will add a little bit of spacing before and after any dynamic table in the financial statements as shown by the green highlight in the image below.

    1. When the setting is turned off, the spacing is 7 pixels (5.25 points)

    2. When the setting is turned on, the spacing is 10 pixel (7.25 points)

  1. We recommend you set the spacing after lists and paragraphs to 3 points (the same as a paragraph with a font size of 3 points) as shown in the orange highlight in the image below.

Headings

The following Headings is the default headings provided by the standard HTML website.
Currently, we are not using any of this in our Cloud Financials solutions, so we can leave it as it is.

Note level

This settings allows you to adjust the note title heading for each level of the note title.

Here is an example of the settings of the note title font size.

Indentation

The indentation settings will allow you to adjust the note indentation between each level of the note and the list items.

The note subheading indentation allows you to control the indentation between each note level:

  1. Note level 1 has an indentation of 15 point from the top level note indentation,

  2. Note level 2 has an indentation of 30 point from the top level note indentation.

The list indentation will allow you to specify the indentation for bullet point content from the top level note indentation. In this instance, there is an indentation of 30 points for the bullet points below.
