Setting Caseware Cloud URL Settings
Select Cloud, then
Caseware URL Options from the Ribbon
From the CaseWare URLs tab in the IDEA Options dialog box, you can Enter your firm's CaseWare Cloud URL.
Using this connection, you can drag and drop files from IDEA to the cloud and from Caseware Cloud to IDEA without ever leaving the IDEA desktop.
On the Home tab, in the Caseware group, click Cloud and then click Caseware Cloud.
Login to Caseware Cloud.
Navigate to Files in the Caseware Cloud window.
Locate the desired file in the File Explorer window.
Drag the file from its location and drop it over the Cloud window.
The window will display a dotted line that identifies the area where the file can be dropped.
The Share Settings window will display. In this step, you set the share permissions of the file when it is copied to the Cloud environment. Options include:
Staff Access: This setting determines who within the Cloud organisation has access to the document being uploaded.
All Staff with Access to <Environment>: Select this setting to allow all staff within the Cloud environment to have access to the file.
Specific Staff: This setting will open a window where you can set specific groups or individuals that are allowed access to the file. Each group or user can also be limited in how they interact with the document (Read, Edit, Delete and Share)
Contacts Access: This setting controls if contacts can be granted access to the document, or if they are prevented from accessing the document.
When the settings are correct, press OK. The file will be uploaded to the Cloud site.
On the Home tab, in the CaseWare group, click Cloud and then click Caseware Cloud.
Login to Caseware Cloud.
Navigate to the required file.
Drag the file from its location and drop it over the File Explorer window in IDEA.
If the file is not an IDEA file then the appropriate Import Assistant dialog box appears. For instance, if you drag and drop a Microsoft Excel file, the Excel dialog box appears. If the file that you have dragged and dropped into IDEA is a Text file, a Print Report, a PDF, or requires a template or a record definition, the main Import Assistant dialog box will appear.
The data file will be copied to the File Explorer.
