How do I download and install a plugin from IDEALab?
IDEA Lab is a website where IDEA users can access, download, comment on, and test working prototypes.
Included with your subscription, IDEA Lab can only be accessed from IDEA v11 and is displayed in your default web browser.
Open IDEA
On the IDEA Lab tab, in the Website group, click IDEA Lab.
Once the IDEALab website launches select a Plugin and select Download
Download the file
Extract the contents of the zip file to an accessible location
Once the extraction is finished, go to that location
Double click the .exe file contained in the folder
Follow the instructions on the screen
Note. – Once the plugin has been installed you must close IDEA and reopen it in order for it to appear in the ribbon.
How to Updating a Plugin
From time to time updated plugins will become available.
If you are updating a plugin please follow the steps above to download and install the updated Plugin.
All the IDEA Lab installers will delete all the files that were previously installed and will make a fresh install.
