How do I lock down a file

CaseWare SMSF Audit files can now be locked down when an audit has been completed. Once a file is locked down, you will see a lock sign in the SMSF Audit banner. While a file is locked, it cannot be edited and all work that was previously performed will be preserved in the file.

To lockdown an SMSF Audit file, please use the following steps:

1. Open the SMSF Audit file you wish to lock down.

2. Click the name of the SMSF Audit in the top left corner.

3. In the Engagement Properties, click the Lockdown button and click Yes to confirm.

After a file is locked, you can either view lockdown information, such as the person who locked the file and the date the file was locked, or unlock the file in the Engagement Properties dialog.

NOTE: When the Unlock button is clicked, a reason for unlocking an engagement file is required to be entered, and this explanation will remain in the engagement file as a permanent record.
