Introduction
Transactions can be imported into Agile Audit and SMSF Audit engagements to allow auditors to drill down into the detail from the Trial Balance level. It is important to note however, that the import transactions feature should only be run after the Trial Balance has been imported into the engagement.
Note: For SMSF Audits of funds administered in either Class Super or BGL, the transactions import is performed automatically when using the relevant fund import integration option.
Method for Agile audit
In OPT Optimiser, ensure you have answered Yes to the Transactions question. With the Trial Balance imported, go to the Data page | Import screen to Import Transactions CSV.
In this screen you will be provided with some requirements that your CSV file must meet. If your file adheres to the outlined requirements, simply drag and drop it, or browse for it in the designated file upload space.
Transaction import rules:
Transactions can only be imported in CSV format.
The required fields for the CSV are date of transaction, reference number, transaction description, account number, transaction source, and transaction amount.
Once done, you will be required to identify the delimiter used in the file. In this case, the delimiter is a Comma. Click Continue.
You will now notice that your uploaded file has appeared under a transactions section.
Click on the Assign Data Fields button to begin mapping the columns of the file as fields. You can also use the bin icon to delete the imported file if it is incorrect.
If you have selected to map the file, you will see the screen below.
Use the dropdown arrow next to Import as to assign the columns to the appropriate areas.
For the transaction source column, you will need to choose the Document Type field, and then map the abbreviations to each of the different types of journals you are importing. This will ensure that the journal entries are identified correctly.
Once you have completed the mapping, click Import. It will then take you back to the transactions upload screen where you can see it has been mapped.
From here, you can see the status of the import and choose to save the format of the data layout to save time on assigning data fields with each import.
Where can I view Transactions?
The transactions can be viewed via two methods.
1-200 Data Completeness Workpaper
If you have imported transactions, you may use the 1-200 Data Completeness workpaper to assist you in determining whether the trial balance and general ledger are not missing any data that could lead to inconsistencies and errors that impact accuracy and reliability.
