There
are three methods available for the user to export
documents to a non-CaseWare user for review.
- Save
as PDF File;
- Save as Web
Pages; or
- Save
as Excel File.
Save as PDF File
The Save
as PDF File feature converts a copy of the entire engagement file
into an individual PDF document. This gives the user the ability of
sending a read-only export of their whole engagement.
1. From
the Engagement tab, select Save As > Save as PDF
File... The 'PDF Export' dialog will appear.
2. Select the
documents you wish to include in the PDF document.
3. Click
the Add button to include the selected documents.
4. Click Export to
begin saving the PDF.
Print Batch/Bulk PDFs
1. To print batch/bulk
documents into separate PDFs, go to Engagement Tab and select Print
Batch.
Save
as Web Pages
The Save
as Web Pages features converts a copy of the entire engagement file
into a web page format (i.e. Internet Explorer). This gives the user the
ability to run the export of the engagement file as a web page, navigating with
the Internet Explorer tools.
1. From
the Engagement tab, select Save As > Save as Web
Pages. The appropriate screen will appear.
2. Identify the
name and location, where you wish to export the web pages on your PC /
Network.
3. Click Save.
CaseWare will then export every document to the specified
location as a web page.
4. To use
the web-page export you need to open the lead web-page (which
will be the name specified for the export).
5. The HTML
page will be structured in the same format as the document manager.
6. Each
document can be opened by a single click.
Save
as Excel file
The Save
as Excel feature converts a copy of the entire engagement file
into an individual Excel document. This gives the user the
ability of sending a read-only export of their whole engagement.
1.
From the Engagement tab, select Save As > Save as
Excel File. The 'Choose Directory' dialog will appear.
2.
Click Browse, to identify the name and location, where you wish to export
the excel documents on your PC / Network.
3.
Click OK, to export as Excel.
Note: You can
modify the PDF properties (to include security and include document
numbers as bookmarks) by clicking the Properties button.
Note: The duration
of creating the PDF can take between 10 - 15 minutes. The time does
depend on the size or location (network may be slower) of the Engagement
file.
Note: Document
Reference Annotations cannot be used to navigate in the HTML or PDF file.
Note: Save as Excel
will only export the automatic documents.
