Installing IDEA 12.3

You can download the latest IDEA version from Passport if you have an active license and access to Passport, or contact your distributor for the latest version.


The install process automatically uninstalls your existing IDEA version and installs the latest IDEA software (including CaseWare IDEA License Manager, if applicable) on the machine that currently hosts the IDEA software. You will not have to re-register your license.

  1. Download the IDEA 12.3 software

  2. Run the Executable file IDEA_12.3_EN_Standard-ASCII.exe and unzip the installation package to create folder IDEA_12.2_EN_Standard-ASCII

  3. In the IDEA_12.3_EN_Standard-ASCII folder navigate to and double-click Setup.exe.

  4. Installation Wizard begins. To start the installation process, click Next.

  5. License Agreement Screen. Read and accept the license agreement and then click Next.
       
      6. Destination Folder Screen. Accept or change the destination folder for IDEA. Click Next
       
The CaseWare License Manager install destination option only appears if CaseWare IDEA License Manager is not already installed on the machine.
  1. Accept or change the destination folder for CaseWare IDEA License Manager.
      7.Ready to Install the Program Screen - Click Install
         

      8. Computer Restart
  1. Your machine may restart after the Microsoft Access driver is installed. The IDEA installation will continue after you log back in.
  2. Your machine may require a reboot if Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is installed as part of the IDEA installation.
  3. If you are prompted to restart your machine, you must click Yes to ensure IDEA is properly configured and to continue with the installation.
  4. If you click No, the IDEA installation is cancelled and you must restart the process from the beginning.

      9. To complete the installation, click Finish.
