SMSF Audit - Audit Report Content.

Overview

The ATO has prescribed a new version of the Independent Audit Report (IAR) with the version (NAT 11466-07.2021).
It must be used for all audits completed on or after 1 July 2021. This means the new version must be used for any audits you complete on or after this date regardless of what income year they apply to.

As such, we are updating all audit reports in the CaseWare SMSF Audit templates. You can find information regarding expected release timing and further guidance below.

Expected Update Timing

  1. FY2021 Template - Currently up to date.
  2. FY2020 Template - Audit Report content update available from 29 July 2020.
  3. FY2019 Templates and earlier - Audit report content updates anticipated to be available from 5 August 2020.

Guidance for Audits Performed in the Short Term

If you are performing audits for income years prior to FY2021 and require the current version of the Audit Report, please refer to the sample provided on the ATO website here.
