Placeholder
is a feature that allows users to create placeholders entries on the Document
Manager for external documents (including Word/Excel/File URL files) that do
not currently exist in the engagement file.
Placeholder
entries allow firms or engagement teams to create their Document Manager
structure regardless of whether the documents already exist. To create a
placeholder entry:
1. Choose the
position of the Placeholder in the Document Manager and select Document | New > Document
Link.
2. Type the
required document number, name, and select the appropriate format type for
the future file (e.g. Word Document).
3. Tick the
Placeholder option and click OK.
Note:
Placeholder
document references cannot be executed by Working Papers.
Drag and
dropping the actual document over the top of the placeholder will
automatically update the item and embed the appropriate document.
